LNAT Practice

The LNAT is the admissions test used by a group of UK university law schools. It asks for no knowledge of law. It measures how carefully you read an argument and how clearly you can make one.

IY-LAW’s LNAT question bank is free. It holds more than 1,500 original questions written to the pattern of Section A, each with a worked explanation of the correct answer and of why the other options fail.

The test at a glance

  • Section A: 42 multiple-choice questions on 12 argumentative passages, in 95 minutes. This is your LNAT score.
  • Section B: one essay from a choice of three, in 40 minutes. Your universities mark it.

Official dates, fees and test centres are published by the LNAT Consortium at lnat.ac.uk.

For teachers and chapters

Schools and IY-LAW chapters are welcome to use the bank with a class. Write to contact@iylaw.org.
