About IY-LAW
Legal education for secondary-school students, led by students
What IY-LAW is
IY-LAW (International Youth Law) gives secondary-school students a way into the law, whatever school they attend and wherever they live.
Students argue mock trials at IY-LAW competitions in cities around the world. They meet, train and compete through the year in school chapters. They prepare for law admissions with a free LNAT question bank, and they publish their legal writing in the IY-LAW Review.
IY-LAW is run by students, for students.
How it began
IY-LAW began at the World Scholar’s Cup at Yale, founded by two secondary-school students, Faraz Islam and Manav Jacob. It has grown from its first mock trial competitions into a network of school chapters across several continents.
